From Rome
In ancient Rome food varied on how much money you had.Ancient Rome valued dinner more than any other meal and consumed it more than any other meal.The more Rome started to value dinner they constructed atriums. [1] The most commonly consumed (poor and rich) food in Ancient Rome was bread and, and the most common meat was pork. The food in ancient Rome was sweetened by honey, but only the rich could afford it. Here is a listing of some of the more exotic foods in Rome shellfish, livers and brains of cows, snails, wine paste and much more. Most of the information about roman foods was found it a citizens cookbook, "Apicus's Cookbook."
The Rich
The rich could afford exotic foods from different countries they had concurred such as: North Africa, West Asia, and neighboring European countries.They ate in plentiful banquets. The rich had a very exquisite taste"
The Poor
The poor mostly ate what they harvested such as: bread from grain, porridge, vegetables,and when they could afford it meat and wine. If the poor could not afford food there were organizations to help them financially.
